DIY: Kredit-Schmuck or Up-cycled Name Necklace Tutorial

I enjoy fluorescent colors, saying that I made something myself, and industrial-ish jewelry. So when I saw this pin on Pinterest I knew I had to make my own version. My jewelry was starting to bore me and contrary to what my mom says, I like to save money when I can. For this project you will need:

1 old credit card

2 jump rings (jewelry making findings)

1 chain

hot pink spray paint or whatever color you want

1 tiny nail

1 hammer

a pair of scissors or an exacto knife

a work surface

First, cut out a small rectangle containing your name from the credit card, leaving room for two tiny holes for the jump rings either next to or on top of your name. Use your nail and hammer to make two holes for the jump rings. Make sure your jump rings fit through! Take your small name piece outside and spray paint. Let it dry. This usually means 24 hours but I have a blog to write so I left it for about eh, 3 hours. After it is dry put in your jump rings (you may need to use pliers) and attach it to your chain.

Voila! You have yourself an up-cycled, recession friendly (I guess it’s technically over?), FLUORESCENT name necklace.
