Since I was feeling in an illustrative groove this week I made an iPhone/iPad screen saver for you. This one goes out to the folks at the Department of Home Affairs. No explanation needed.

PS Check out my DIY at the Minnetonka Moccasins blog. I’ll be doing one more and then hosting a contest for one lucky reader to win my favorite pair of moccs. It will be open to US and South African residents!

On any given day I (and you, and everyone else) am constantly staring at my tech, whether it’s my mac, iPhone or iPad, some kind of screen is usually commanding my attention. I try to make my machinery zen by changing up backgrounds (usually I pick something lovely from Design Love Fest) and so I thought I’d make my own. Here for your viewing and downloading pleasure I have a desktop background and two iPhone/iPad/tablet lock and home screens (click through above, and if you don’t know how here are some instructions for iphones).
Also, speaking of zen machinery here is a sleek case for your iPhone.

I just discovered an app that single handedly made our entire iPad purchase worth it. It’s called Paper by FiftyThree. It’s a virtual sketchpad where you can write, draw, paint and sketch inspiration as you please. They have a blog with particularly good Paper sketches and inspiration. The only downside is that while the app is free, you have to buy the tools that aren’t the pen. Totally worth it though. Here is a quick video.
